Ukiyo-e (sub. Japandi)
Ukiyo-e, Japanese woodblok prints, flourished in the Edo period, capturing scenes of urban life, landscapes, and kabuki actors.
Known for their vivid colours and intricate details, these prints influenced Western art, notably impressionism.
Ukiyo-e remains celebrated for its beauty, craftsmanship, and depiction of the "floating world" of transient pleasures.
These prints carry with them a delicate atmosphere, with their limited colour palette, elegant shapes, and ingenious use of negative space, they work wonderfully as standalone pieces or styled with other visually calm prints, like our Simple Ferns and Iconic Plants collections.
