How we work
Our adventure takes us to archives, libraries and museums where illustrative rare books are waiting to be found.
In the age of discovery, thousands of fascinating images were drawn, explaining topics and documenting travels. We spend hours searching through collections of these old and rare books to find the perfect motifs.
We may do as little as enhancing colours and compositions. Often we re-mix, combine, twist and hybridize illustrations from different parts of the world and different time periods, to add new context and interest to the illustrations.
We print all images in our studio on a high-quality matte art paper from the German specialist paper mill Hahnemühle. The archival ink is Japanese and used for vivid long-lasting colours and sought-after intensity. We print on demand to limit production waste.
Then we send out the delivery boy.
Also please note that in some areas we use skilled local print studios to print and frame for us, so you can receive your order much easier and with less transportation costs to both you and the environment!
