Purple Heron

€29

Birds have a high visibility in nature and a marvelous aesthetic appeal making them a beloved subject to study both by professonals and amateurs.

Many naturalists and painters have been drawing birds non better than the American ornithologist, naturalist and painter John James Audubon with his work The Birds of America.

Despite its name the Purple Heron is in fact not purple, but chestnut-brown and grey. In spanish it is called Garza Imperial, which is much more suited for this majestic bird.

Printed with Japanese archival ink on a matte Hahnemühle paper in our own studio in rural Copenhagen, Denmark.

Design no. 6523
