There are approximately 1500 different species of cacti. Every one of them is a beauty in its own way.
Cacti can survive in the most extreme dry environments. They adapt to their surroundings in different manners to conserve water. Most species have lost their leaves and instead have thorns providing safety from herbivores and giving some shade.
