Malay Tapir
€29
This charming design shows two Malayan Tapir next to a lush river bank.
The Malayan tapir, Tapirus indicus, is the largest of the extant tapir. Malayan tapirs live in southern and central parts of Sumatra (Indonesia), and on the Asian mainland in Peninsular Malaysia, Thailand and Myanmar. They are very rare now and were first described by Western science in 1819, and are still occasionally referred to by their original scientific name Acrocodia indica.
Printed with Japanese archival ink on a matte Hahnemühle paper in our own studio in rural Copenhagen, Denmark.
