Black-bellied Darter

Birds have a high visibility in nature and a marvelous aesthetic appeal making them a beloved subject to study both by professonals and amateurs.
Many naturalists and painters have been drawing birds non better than the American ornithologist, naturalist and painter John James Audubon with his work The Birds of America.
These darters has nothing to do with snakes, but because of their long neck they have a snake-like appearance which leads people to refer them as snakebirds.
